A variety of short and long walks can be taken from the house, following old drovers tracks, along the lakeside, or the valleys and hilltops in the surrounding countryside. Many of these tracks take you to small outlying villages where you can sample the local tapas and beers. |

A 30-minute walk from the Cortijo through olive groves and a riverside track leads you to the lake, from where you can see many local birds such as kingfishers, hoopoes, bee-eaters, azure-winged magpies, swallows and cuckoos. If you tire of swimming in the Cortijo's 4 by 8 metre swimming pool, you can always visit nearby sandy beaches at Valdearenas on the lake, near the village of Iznájar, Malaga or Torremolinos! Valdearenas has boating, fishing and a good restaurant. |
